Nobu Returns!

Sunday, May 10, 3PM

From Japan

Blind since birth, Nobuyuki Tsujii was a Gold Medal winner at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. It was the last time Van Cliburn was in attendance, and he was so moved by Nobu’s playing that he stated, “You feel God’s presence in the room.” Our 2013 Virtuosi audience caught what Time Magazine coined as “Nobu fever” and begged for an immediate return engagement. He will once again perform a Virtuosi recital preceded by two WSO concerto performances.

PROGRAMME: Chopin: Barcarole in F-sharp major, Op. 60; Nocturne No.1 in B-flat minor, Op. 9; Nocturne No.2 in E-flat major, Op. 9. Liszt: Consolation No.3 in D-flat major; Mephisto Waltz, No. 1 S.514. Beethoven: Piano Sonata No.8 in C-minor, Op. 13 “Pathetique”; Piano Sonata No.23 in F-minor, Op. 57 “Appassionata”.
