BAROQUE AND BEYOND II
ROMANTIC MASTERWORKS

Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra
Chamber Players
Led by Gwen Hoebig

A nurturing of intimacies, and an evergreen fund of melody characterizes Brahms second Sextet for Strings The freshness of youth cloaked in genius sparked Mendelssohn's Octet for Strings - miraculous music that sprung from the heart and mind of the sixteen-year-old firebrand. Two great Romantic masterpieces, whose presence on the same programme elevates each other.

WSO Chamber Players presents " Ensemble playing at its best." - Winnipeg Free Press
