The Sonorous Cello

Cellist Jeremy Findlay’s musical beginnings were in Toronto, and he has gone on to perform in over 40 countries worldwide. He met his Russian wife, pianist Elena Braslavsky, in Prague and they now live in Salzburg where she teaches at the Mozarteum. The conductor, Sir Roger Norrington, wrote that Jeremy Findlay’s cello “breathes fire, accuracy and musicality.” The duo overwhelms their audiences with “exuberantly impassioned performances” (Classical Music Magazine). This concert marks their return to the Virtuosi stage after seven years.

Programme: Beethoven Cello Sonata No. 2 in G minor, Op. 5; J. Gemrot Variations on a theme of Dvorak; M. Barnes Lamentations of Jeremiah Chopin Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 65.
