AUDIENCE COMMENTS

OMG! Fabulous!!! (Anon)

It’s so good to be back! My first year as a subscriber, but absent for three concerts due to major surgery. Gave those tickets away to friends. Hopefully I will be healthy enough to attend my choice of six concerts in the next season! All Chopin program by Janina – absolutely fantabulous! Such sensitive tonal colouring, as well as amazing technical excellence! Bravissima! I’m sure she has, but wondering if Janina has been to Valldemossa, Majorca in the Balearic Islands where Chopin and Georges Sand spent the winter of 1838-39. The Playel piano Chopin ordered from Paris could not be transported up the donkey path until the late spring. There are two hairpin turns on that road to Valldemossa today! (MM)

How sublime! What a season. (Anon)

Outstanding pianist. Always fantastic. I wish she would play an all-Beethoven program sometime. (HT)

Wonderful concert. At the end, everyone was smiling. I have never seen anything like it. (Anon)

A whole evening of the most wonderful Chopin we have ever had in the city! What an elegant lady, who brought us a fine program with her outstanding technique and interpretations. It seemed so effortless for her to put her soul into the music, and have the piano ring with such rich tones. At times brooding, at times so exciting, and always balanced and with composure. Ms. Fialkowska was so gracious and sensitive. It was delightful to see her respond to the concert goers who came up to have their CDs signed. VCI has hit the jackpot again. Fantastic success. Thanks for providing Winnipeg with such a fine series. (Anon)
