Young Artists

Virtuosi Concerts’ Young Artist Program exists to promote young classical musicians in Manitoba. Every Virtuosi subscription concert opens with a performance by a Virtuosi Young Artist.

Auditions for the Virtuosi Concerts’ Young Artist Program are held in April at The University of Winnipeg’s Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall, home to the Virtuosi Concerts series since the hall’s opening in 1993. Each Virtuosi Young Artist, in addition to being awarded a Virtuosi Concerts performance opportunity, is featured in the Virtuosi program, receives an honorarium and is provided with complimentary concert tickets. In 2017, for the first time in the Young Artist Program’s three-year history, all participants were eligible for an audition prize funded solely by donations from Virtuosi audience patrons.
